Autograph letter signed, dated : Sant'Agata, 7 July 1875, to Léon [Escudier], 1875 July 7.

Apologizing for not writing before leaving Vienna but in the 24 hours preceding the last performance [of the Requiem] his was much occupied and preoccupied, saying that Escudier interpreted Verdi's intentions correctly in saying to [Olivier] Halanzier[-Durenoy] that Verdi had relinquished the droits d'auteur, complaining about inaccurate reports in the newspapers, etc.
